With CANopen, the user organization CAN in Automation (CiA) has created a protocol standard which has widely spread in embedded systems and mechanical engineering. CANopen specifications not only define various services for data exchange, they also specify standardized access to the systems via device profiles and application profiles. Target group CANopen training The target group of the CANopen workshop is development engineers who are looking for detailed knowledge about the communication profile or would like to get an insight in the CANopen / CANopen FD protocol stacks.

The CANopen Bootloader protocol stack provides the complete functionality for integration of a bootloader according to the CANopen standard in your existing devices. Versatile configuration options facilitate individual customization to a target product. The Bootloader was implemented to meet low storage requirements. The CANopen Bootloader stack comprises a reduced object dictionary and supports NMT, SDO (Expedited/Segmented/Block), Emergency, Heartbeat as well as LSS services. Up to four separate sections for storage of programmes and data may be defined. The CANopen Download Tool is used to update programmes and data of the target hardware. A defined API facilitates adjustment to a flash memory of the target hardware. Flash drivers for various controllers (e.g. STM32 series) are part of the CANpie driver.

Varying ambient temperatures from cold winters to summer heat, resistance against environmental influence, such as shock or vibration – these are the main requirements for agricultural technology. Before these vehicles go into series production, they are thoroughly tested in extreme conditions – day and night. In tough test applications, the CAN bus technology from MicroControl ensures reliable data transfer between vehicle components and the testing facility.
