Our range, based on high performance melt processable fluoropolymers such as ECTFE coating, PFA coating and ETFE coating has been formulated to provide enhanced toughness and chemical protection. F-LON® High Build surface coatings have been specifically developed to satisfy the most demanding requirements of the processing industries including organic and inorganic chemical manufacture and the food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Our internal reinforcement technology also enables application thicknesses in excess of 1.0mm (depending on the component) further enhancing liquid and vapour resistance. Desired thicknesses are attained by the application of multiple spray coats with high-temperature oven-fusion cycles between each coat. Rotation of parts during coating minimises the effects of thermoplastic melt flow.

Ceramic coatings in the form of inorganic base sol-gel, form a very thin layer of 35 µ ± 5 yet a very hard (9H Pencil hardness) surface. Ceramic, by nature is an excellent conductor of heat, F-LON® ceramic coatings can be applied in many applications where one or more of the following properties are required: High heat resistance (450°C) Hard surface yet high impact resistance Exceptional wear resistance Good corrosion resistance and/or anti-fouling properties Stain resistance and good clean-ability (equivalent to a vitreous enamel) Low coefficient of friction Higher heat transfer coefficient Excellent Nonstick The newest product in our range is F-LON® 9000 which is cutting-edge technology, based on a Sol-Gel process resulting in coatings with the following characteristics. Xylan and Dupont coatings have a broad range of properties which make them ideal for an infinite variety of applications. They differ from traditional fluoropolymer coatings in one very important aspect: they are composite materials. Lubricants with the lowest-known coefficient of friction are combined with the newest high temperature-resistant organic polymers. In the field of plastics we offer metal strips with PVC plastisol and/or organosol coatings, as well as polyamide plastics. PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), PC (polycarbonate), PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and PLA (polyactide), TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and others. These can be produced with a layer thickness of 5-200 μm Depending on the plastic, higher layer thicknesses can also be achieved. In addition, most plastics can also be equipped with antibacterial properties; of course in all colour variations. An innovation for decorative applications is the stripe coating on our narrow Coil Coating line at First American. This is a complete coil coating process in which we are able to leave tightly toleranced, unpainted stripes on the carrier strip. These give the decorative effect to the finished article, while the coated areas are coated with an adhesive system (e.g. automotive trim material or white coating with a defined black stripe, etc.). As always, all metal strips available on the market can be used as metal carriers; all coatings can also be used. This leads to a smart product, allowing you a multitude of new, innovative applications.
