Magneto-inductive sensors
Description
Sensors can be adapted to suit customer-specific applications. Particularly for a large number of pieces, customized sensors can be produced efficiently, which results in considerable cost reductions. The compact PCB which contains the sensor element and the evaluation electronics is responsible for the signal preparation, signal evaluation and signal output. The type of measurement (distance or rotational speed measurement) and the required frequency response are adaptable. In addition, the interfaces offer numerous connectivity options. There are several outputs such as current, voltage, PWM and further digital outputs. The design of the housing, the material and the protection class can be adapted to the specific requirements. In cases where space is limited, the side shifted measurement offers a space-saving alternative. For harsh environments, the sensor is designed with a fully sealed stainless steel housing that withstands high pressure, dirt, aggressive chemicals (acids)

The compact DTD inductive sensor system consists of a gauge with a plunger guided by a plain bearing and a controller, which are connected to each other with a 3 m long cable. The controller has a diameter of just 18 mm and the 3m-long cable enables flexible installation. The DTD sensor system is based on an established LVDT measuring method. It impresses with outstanding precision and provides high signal stability and resolutions down to the micrometer range. Thanks to its high temperature stability, resistance to shock and vibration, and insensitivity to dirt, the induSENSOR DTD is ideal for industrial measurement tasks. Modern fieldbuses such as Ethernet, PROFINET or EtherCAT are supported via optionally available interface modules.

Rotation speed sensors are used to monitor, regulate and control mechanical drive systems and play a major role when it comes to protecting elements of a rotational system (e.g., in the engine, drive) from mechanical overload. Micro-Epsilon offers two sensor systems for rotation speed measurement. The capaNCDT CST6110 is a universal rotation speed sensor for counting tasks and rotation speed applications of any type. Moreover, the turboSPEED DZ140 measuring system is specifically designed for the detection of turbocharger rotation speeds.

mainSENSOR is based on an innovative measuring principle, which has been developed by Micro-Epsilon in order to combine the advantages of both inductive and magnetic sensors. Magneto-inductive sensors are frequently used as alternative to inductive sensors and proximity sensors in process automation, the packaging industry and in machine monitoring. Measuring the distance to a magnet which is fixed at the measurement object, the sensor outputs a continuous, linear signal. As different strength magnets are applied, measuring ranges of between 20 mm and 55 mm can be achieved. However, in order to adapt the measuring range, it is only necessary to change the magnet.
