When it comes to seat heaters, we at Embro think first and foremost of the textile processors of vehicle seats. Because our textile heating elements are in great demand in the automotive industry. They are easy to process, flexible, and kink-resistant. The heat output is individually adapted to the customer’s requirements in the development process and suitably distributed and laid out on the desired surface (wire laying). With the increasing number of electric vehicles being produced, the demand for further heating solutions for the interior area is also rising. We are using CNC - technology for the laying of thin and insulated heating wires on a variety of carrier materials in order to manufacture all kinds of heating elements. We can work up to sizes of 2 x 2 m, and we can realize medium series (500 - 10.000pcs.) as well as high volume productions (up to 1 million pcs.). All voltages from 3,7V up to 480V are possible. In order to meet the demands for robustness and efficient heat output, we have embroidered the heating element on a glass mesh fabric carrier material. Between the meandering arrangement of the heating strands, we integrate a recess for the temperature switch in the CAD layout. In addition, a second wire is laid concurrently as a PTC thermistor for the electrical connection of the safety switch. After the technical embroidery process, the safety switch is inserted and connected by our company’s respective department. Each prefabricated element is tested for functionality and performance in the final inspection and is delivered to the customer after passing the test. As a semi-finished product, the infrared heating element on glass mesh fabric can be further processed by the customer, e.g. in connection with silicone, rubber or epoxy resin.

Where are magnetic field mats used? The coils currently manufactured by us are processed by our customers into so-called electromagnetic field mats. These mats are used in Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy. Many PEMF devices are suitable for private use at home. However, various health service providers including physical therapists as well as non-medical practitioners offer therapies based on magnetic fields. Why is our embroidery technology used for production? This technique creates circular-shaped structures that form the basis for a homogeneous flow/direction of the electric current. At the same time, the mechanical wire laying has an extremely high level of accuracy. The distances can also precisely be determined. How is the magnetic field created? Simply put, this is how electromagnetic fields are created: pulsating magnetic fields are generated by the electric current flowing through the wire. The more wire, the stronger the magnetic field.

Aramid fibers are suitable for very demanding applications and they are widely used in the firefighting industry (manufacturing of firefighters’ clothing) because of their flame retardant properties. Aramid is not only fireproof, the aramid fibers also have a high tensile strength, which is why they are often used for bulletproof vests (military and police) or for armoring selected emergency vehicles. A special property of aramid nonwovens is its good thermal insulation. The laid heating wire creates a very high heat output, which is insulated by the nonwoven. Aramid has a high heat resistance, which is an enormous advantage since laying the heating wire generates a very high heat output which is further enhanced by the insulation provided by the aramid nonwoven carrier. In addition, the nonwoven is either not combustible or flame retardant and can be used for a temperature ranges of up to 200°C.

How do we improve the durability and performance of products? Through our production of heating mats for lithium-ion batteries and other batteries, we also indirectly contribute to the conservation of resources. In this way, the batteries are better protected against strong or fluctuating temperature influences. This means that they are less prone to failure and have a significantly longer service life and performance. Preheating, warm up or heating in continuous operation The heating mats are equipped with a performance tailored to the customer and regulate the temperature of the batteries and rechargeable batteries according to the necessary conditions. With optional equipment such as self-adhesive foil (one-sided or double-sided foil lamination), these can be attached to the battery or the block super easily.
