Based on decades of experience, GMN has specialized in producing extremely high quality machine tool components. Through this strategy, GMN manufactures a wide range of standard non-contact seals and customized solutions. The frictionless, no-wear characteristics of GMN non-contact seals offer effective, economical and ecological solutions for modern applications in and outside of the machine tool industry. Thanks to the non-contact design of the inner and outer ring, GMN labyrinth seals guarantee completely frictionless operation and therefore offer a wide range of benefits for a whole host of applications and uses.

GMN insert elements are available in many different diameters. The FE 400 Z, FE 400 Z2 and FE 8000 Z series are equipped with a tension spring. The FE 400 M series has a meander spring. GMN insert elements are designed for installation on hardened and ground connecting parts. They are suitable for either oil or grease lubrication. All GMN insert elements can be used as indexing clutches, backstops or as overrunning clutches.

GMN ball bearing freewheel clutch units are suitable for low and medium torque requirements. The FK, FKN and FKNN series have an integrated ball bearing and are also optionally available pre-lubricated with grease and seal rings (2RS models). GMN ball bearing freewheel clutch units without seals are suitable for either oil or grease lubrication. All GMN ball bearing freewheel clutch units can be used as indexing clutches, backstops or as overrunning clutches.

GMN complete freewheel clutch units are particularly suited for high torque requirements. The FPD, FND, RA, FP and FN series are characterized by an integrated ball bearing and an additional roller bearing (fixed and floating bearing) and are also optionally available pre-lubricated with sealing rings. All GMN complete freewheel clutch units can be used as indexing clutches, backstops or as overrunning clutches.

Based on its many years of experience in the development and production of high-quality machine components, GMN has chosen to specialize in the production of efficient, long-life sprag type freewheel clutches. The standardized model series offer a large selection of feature options to furnish effective freewheel clutch solutions for almost any field of application. The functional principle of sprag type freewheel clutches is based on static friction. A certain number of sprags are in constant friction contact with the connecting parts. Sprags are components with variable height. They are uprighted when the connecting parts are rotated and clamped between the connecting parts while there is static friction between sprags and connecting parts. The static friction is guaranteed by a specific geometry (clamping angle) of the sprags to the connecting parts. GMN sprag type freewheel clutches can be used as indexing clutches, backstops or as overrunning clutches.

Magnetic ball bearings are increasingly important in CO2 laser systems and fluid pumps as well as applications in the optics industry. GMN has led the development and manufacture of safety bearings, so-called ‘touchdown bearings’ since the middle of the 1990s."

For many applications such as machine tools, medical devices, vacuum and measuring equipment, as well as complex bearing systems, GMN develops and offers special ball bearings which meet our customers’ specified requirements.

"Ball bearings with a material combination of bearing steel (inner and outer rings) and ceramic (balls) are called ‘hybrid’ ball bearings. All GMN ball bearings can be supplied as hybrid ball bearings. The material characteristics of ceramic balls in hybrid ball bearings result in significant increases in machine performance (in comparison to ball bearings using steel balls), especially under critical conditions.
