Since 1755, Johann Offner Werkzeugindustrie GmbH has manufactured metalware products in Wolfsberg in the Lavant Valley. The company – which originally operated as a nail and wire factory – specialised during the 20th century in the manufacture of forged hand tools, while in the 21st century it has developed into one of the largest European manufacturers of long-handle equipment for gardening, agriculture, construction and snow clearance. Since the beginning – today in the eighth generation – the family company has been led by the owner family. The core activity of the company is the processing of metals to high-quality hand tools. Steel is carefully forged to produce forks, rakes, claws and scythes that are used all round the world. Using the pressing, shaping, tempering and finishing of high-quality steel and aluminium, the company also produces durable spades, shovels and snow-clearing equipment, all of which meet the highest requirements.
