Our Medium Duty ball transfer units are machined from solid steel bar which is heat-treated to provide a hemispherical wear-resistant chamber within which the recirculating balls can support the protruding, load-bearing main ball. This robust, low-noise design is engineered for applications requiring conventional (ball ‘up’) orientation. Additional options for this range include impact-absorbing top cap options, and additional drain channels where required, making these transfer units the air cargo industry standard.

Light-duty ball transfer units are assembled from pressed sheet steel components, except for the LP series which are machine turned from an acetal solid bar. All light-duty ball transfer unit designs feature a hemispherical cup for the recirculation of the small supporting balls. This allows a smooth rotation of the protruding, load-bearing ball. All light-duty ball transfer units (except LP) feature a heat-treated support cup which is resistant to wear.

T & B bars incorporate Heavy Duty spring-loaded ball units for accurate positioning & effortless conveying of tools & dies on press & machine beds. Once positioned, clamp the tool & the springs allow the ball units to retract beneath the bed. Unclamp & the ball units will raise the tool above the bed ready to convey again. T-Bars feature an integral locking mechanism. B-Bars are locked using recessed M8 cap screw (requires drilling & tapping of the bed). Custom sizes available.

The bearings are separable. This means the bearing parts can be fitted independently of each other. The main dimensions of the axial ball bearing conform to ISO 104 and DIN 711. Dimensional and running tolerances correspond to tolerance class PN acc. to DIN 620. These tolerance classes are standard and are well suited for most applications.

Due to their preload, the angular contact ball bearings provide a high level of stiffness, excellent concentricity, precise tool positioning and repeatability. The bearing friction coefficient Mrl is a reference value. The moment of inertia corresponds to that of the rotating inner ring. The limiting speeds are applicable after grease is applied.
