Riga Ply Birch plywood sanded on both the faces. Birch plywood has a wide range of application. Plywood is composed of 1.4 mm thick veneers by cross bonding. Riga Ply is the basis for all other types of plywood products. Grades B (I) - for high quality painting, staining and lacquering. S (II) - for good quality painting, staining and lacquering. BB (III) - standard grade (plugged), for interior paint finish and coating with transparent and non-transparent thicker overlays and films, and also veneering. WGE - plywood of WG grade without open defects (repaired with epoxy filler), for coating with non-transparent finishing material. WG (IV) - for use where surface appearance is not important, reverse grade. Advantages Environmentally friendly, durable, easily workable. Riga Mel Birch plywood ( Riga Ply) overlaid with a white melamine film on both faces (grade M/M); reverse face can be overlaid with a phenol film. Advantages The surface is hygienic, odour free, weather- and water-proof, resists commonly used chemicals and UV rays. The surface is easy-to-clean with water and steam. Applications Transport industry: finishing of walls and ceilings; furniture components and table tops, shop fitting and exhibition stands and booths, advertisement and information boards. Surface overlay The surface is smooth, glossy and hard. Nevertheless, it may easily crack in case of hard impacts. Riga Tex Birch plywood ( Riga Ply) overlaid with a phenol film or with UV resistant film on both the faces. The wear face has a rough wire mesh pattern (W); the reverse normally is smooth (F), although it can have wire mesh pattern, too (grade W/W). Riga Tex rough wire mesh overlay withstands hard wear and it can be used for many different floor-panelling purposes. Advantages The wire mesh surface has high wear resistance and anti-slip properties, surface is weather- and water-proof, resists to commonly used chemicals. In addition, the product is environmentally friendly. Applications Vehicle floors, pedestrian bridges, storage and factory floors, storage shelves, loading platforms, ship decks, pier surfaces. In general - applications where high wear resistance and/or good anti-slip properties are required. Overlaying A smooth phenol or UV resistant film, which is hot-pressed onto the surface, is used as an overlay. The phenol film is composed of a basic paper which is impregnated with phenol resin. The UV resistant film is impregnated with special thermosetting mixture of polymers containing amino resins. On special request, panels can be overlaid with wear resistant phenol film or/and multi-layer phenol film and both the faces can have a wire mesh pattern.
