Riga Preprime Birch plywood overlaid on one or both faces with a preprimed painting film ready for painting, without further priming or other preparations. Advantages Environmentally friendly, easy and fast to paint, less consumption of paint, does not require priming, does not crack during interior and exterior application. Application Walls, ceilings, surfaces of furniture, front doors to be painted, lorries, factory rooms, containers, household, trailer side boards, traffic signs, information and advertising boards. Overlaying The panel is overlaid with a preprimed painting paper and glue film during hot-pressing process. The total surface weight (depending on the applied films) is 350-400 g/m 2. It is possible to have such overlay (PRE/PRE) on both faces or a painting paper on one face and a phenol film on the reverse face, or a painting paper on one face and the reverse face of raw plywood in various qualities. Riga Prime Birch plywood (Riga Ply or Riga Paint) overlaid with a primer on one or both faces, thus plywood surface is ready to be painted. It facilitates painting operations and requires less paint. Suitable for exterior or interior application painted as well as unpainted. Advantages Environmentally friendly, easy and fast to paint, less consumption of paint, it does not require priming. The primer coating protects the plywood surface against moisture and burning (scorching) when laser-cutting tools are used. Veneering Veneering is usually done with 0.55 mm thick unsanded veneers of birch, beech, European maple, European oak and alder. Other species and thickness may be available on request. Riga HPL Birch plywood ( Riga Ply) overlaid with HPL (High Pressure Laminate) on one or both faces. On the reverse face balance paper can be applied. Overlay HPL is a decorative high-pressure laminate. HPL is made of layers of Kraft paper impregnated with phenol resins (the core) and decorative melamine impregnated paper (the surface layer), manufactured under high pressure and temperature. Colors at customer’s request. Application Furniture industry: kitchen and laboratory furniture components and worktops; furniture for shops. Transport industry and construction: finishing works of walls and ceiling, surfaces where high wear resistance and appearance are required. Riga Poliform Birch plywood ( Riga Ply) overlaid with a special composite material on both faces. Overlay colour The standard color is grey. Application Formwork systems. Advantages This product produces a superior appearance to the concrete surface whilst protecting the plywood substrate. The expected lifetime of the panels, when properly used, may exceed 100 times. The thickness of the composite face material helps to protect the plywood against swelling. The composite material is ecologically safe and recyclable. Overlay The composite material is made of wood fibres and polypropylene. The overlay is glued with D3 or D4 class glues according to the standard EN 204 requirements. The thickness of the overlay is 1.6 mm. The surface is glossy or mat. The surface of this material resists well against various kinds of damages. After use, the panels release well and maintain their performance for a long time. Moisture absorption inferior to 1.8% translates to excellent weather resistance. The UV-resistance of the HPL-overlay is from average to good. The panels can be used within a temperature range from -40°C up to +80°C. Riga Composite Birch plywood ( Riga Ply) overlaid on one or both faces with a special material or such a material is used as a core to improve mechanical properties or visual appearance of plywood. Further mechanical processing, board and edge sanding and lacquering is available, also manufacturing of furniture elements. Riga Composite PPL PPL is 0,2 mm grey (RAL 7045), white (RAL 9016) or black (RAL 9017) slightly textured polypropylene overlay. PPL overlay is flexible, does not crack, resistant to UV and chemicals. Riga Composite PPL is applied in horse trailer walls, lining of trailer walls and ceiling, shop and warehouse fitting. Riga Composite TPO TPO is grey (RAL 7000), thermoplastic, textured polyolefin overlay. It is flexible, wear resistant, does not crack, resistant to chemicals and UV. Riga Ignisafe Birch plywood impregnated with fire retardant. Types Riga Ply (raw plywood), BB/BB, BB/WG or WG/WG Riga Form overlaid on one face with a dark brown phenol film (F I/BB, F I/WG) Fire classes / standards It is possible to impregnate in conformity with: C s1 d0 (C class) according to EN 13501 (application – walls and ceiling) B s1 d0 (B class) according to EN 13501 (normally required in higher risk areas such as escape routes and staircases) M1 class according to French Standard NF F 16101 (requirements for materials with application in railway industry) Application Anywhere where high fire safety is required – mostly in transport and building industry. Riga Ignisafe is normally for interior applications (epoxy, polyurethane and alkyd paints are recommended) In outdoor use the surface must be protected by paint (water-soluble latex paint) Finishing material can significantly affect conformity to the fire class. Painting should be done according to the paint manufacturer's instructions. Riga Ignisafe must not be heated above 100 0C.
