SELF AMALGAMATING TAPE

EPR TAPE They are used for insulation, impermeability, protection, joining or repairing applications. They have very high resistance to tear because when layers are rolled they vulcanize to form a very homogeneous mass. Optimal resistance to atmospheric agents and very good waterproofing properties. Most common applications: Repair of electrical wire cover. Airtight sealing of telecommunication cables. Insulation, waterproof and protection of electric components. Thickness: 0.3mm-1mm Weatherproof covering for thermal insulation of pipework and ventilation trunking. Premium self-amalgamating tape is also available. It is ideal for jointing and fixing of cables up to 69KV.

Semi‐conducting, self‐amalgamating EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) tape. Its colour is black. The product and interleave are printed with the cautionary words semi‐conducting to distinguish the product from insulating tapes. APPLICATIONS For ensuring the continuity of conductor and core screens at cable joints in a variety of polymeric and elastomeric insulated cables. For jointing power cables up to 69kV. For stress cone construction, where it provides the conducting layer. For smoothing electrical stresses on irregular shaped lugs and connectors. For smoothing electrical stresses in joints and terminations using premoulded components. For smoothing electrical stresses on overhead power lines, reducing discharges and consequent interference to local radio and telephone communications.
