The signal sampling is done by an interferometric operating principle (laserscale) The graduation period is 1µm, the generated signal period of the output signal is 250nm. Scale errors are self-compensated by using six reading heads in a special arrangement. The measured values can be output in csv format via the USB interface. The software for measured value acquisition and storage is included in the scope of delivery.

The BS78 is a high accuracy exposed linera encoder with an interferometric signal generation in transmitted light design. The scale has a graduation period of 0.55µm. The LASERSCALE operating principle generates a sinusoidal measuring signal with a signal period of 138nm. This has an extremely high signal quality with a very low noise component. This allows resolutions of up to 2.1 pm to be generated. Due to the extremely low interpolation error, the BS78 is perfectly suited for ultra precision machining, measurement and calibration applications.
