VAM premium threads can also be used, as well as other special connections (Hydril FJWP, etc.) Our subs are fully machined from certified AISI 4145H alloy steel. RILLSTAR mud screens have been the choice of major drilling contractors worldwide for over 20 years. About 1 meter long, they provide a wide screening surface, limiting plugging while still retaining tiny debris thanks to 6 mm holes. Their durability is ensured by the choice of quality material and premium making. They are built out of 4 mm thick high-grade carbon steel perforated plates, ensuring a lifetime several times longer than thinner models. DRILLSTAR mud screens are designed with a removable internal spear. When the screen is used on the drill floor, removing the spear allows for easy cleaning of trapped debris. When the screen is used downhole, the spear can be easily fished in case of plugged pipe or if a back-off shot needs to be run. Screens are delivered along with their accessories : - 2 types of interchangeable fishing necks (1/2" and 7/8"). - Retrieving handle for easy manipulation of the screen on surface.

Section mills are designed for cutting and milling a complete section of casing. All models 4 1/2 in. OD and above are equipped with 2 sets of 3 knives: 1 long set and 1 short set, designed for first cutting and then milling the casing. Knives can be hardfaced with your choice of TOPLOY carbide grains or TOPMILL/SWORDFISH tungsten carbide inserts. For most jobs, TOPMILL inserts are strongly recommended to improve milling performance. This tool can be equipped with Flo-tel, which produces a sudden drop in mud pressure when the pipe is cut out, indicating the right time to start applying milling weight.

Drillstar taper taps and die collars are manufactured from high-grade alloy steel and cemented to ensure the highest strength. They are available in a wide range of sizes, and can be equipped with different types of guides. Taper Taps Plain type Drillstar taper taps are either plain or fluted, with four longitudinal grooves which allow the easy evacuation of cuttings. The hardened cutting teeth (wickers) are available with either right-hand or left-hand spiral. Over a meter in length, the taps offer two particular advantages : First, they can be screwed into the washover subs, thus allowing the tap to be guided by an external tube. Secondly, due to the fine tapering of the threads, the tap can be screwed further into the fish head and will accept considerable pull without releasing the fish. Drillstar hydraulic casing cutter is intended for cutting away a complete section of casing or liner. It is a dependable, rugged tool, easy to operate and maintain in the field. The cutting blades, lodged in the body, are expanded by mud pressure and can cut multiple concentric strings of casing quickly and safely.
