Transmec Belgium has almost tripled its storage capacity with the opening of a new warehouse near Liege.
The new 4,200 sq m facility enables the Herstal-based division to keep pace with its rapid growth, which has seen turnover rise from 3.2 to 16.5 million euros between 2012 and 2018.
“It’s a really positive step and will make a big difference to the way we operate, benefiting our customers and our employees,” said branch manager, Yannick Lonneux.
Going forward the branch will operate two bases at Herstal, with its long-established 2,200 sq m warehouse continuing to be used for exports while the new warehouse will be a hub for imported goods.
The facilities are just 2km from each other, well-located near the main road network which offers fast routes throughout the Benelux countries and access to Transmec’s hubs throughout Europe.
