Description

The cowl is an important element of the flue gas discharge system from the building. It has a protective function, improves the efficiency of the chimney and protects against adverse weather conditions. Chimney cowls are available in different types and materials, such as stainless steel, ceramics and concrete. The chimney cowl consists of several elements. The first one is a conical base, which enables stable mounting of the cowl on the top of the chimney. Then we have the crowning part, i.e. the upper part of the base, which protects against the penetration of precipitation and adverse external factors into the interior of the chimney. Often the crowning part of the base also has a roof, which additionally protects the chimney outlet against rain or snow.
