A positive-locking mechanical connection between the cus-tomer’s shaft and the sensor shaft ensures that the magnet in the sensor shaft precisely reflects the rotation of the cus-tomer’s shaft. With the TBN model, one rotation (i.e. max. 16,384 steps) is recorded.With the subsequent absolute transmission, the TRN shaft encoder reaches a measuring range of up to 4096 rotations. The position and speed values (PDO - Process Data Object) are output via the CANopen protocol.

Recording of the angular position and revolutions by means of Hall sensors - absolute multiturn transmission for up to 4096 revolutions - data output plus parameterisation and diagnosis via EtherCAT. Robust housing manufactured from seawater-resistant aluminium or stainless steel - stainless steel shaft - ball bearing with radial shaft seal-sensor circuit consisting of ASIC with Hall elements - electrical connection via M12 connector or cable outlet. In the model series TRK absolute encoders, the EtherCAT interface is integrated according to IEC 61158-2 to 6 and encoder profile CiA DSP406. To achieve the SIL2 level, the TRK/S3 contains a redundant sensor system and additional internal monitoring mechanisms as well as safe communication via the FSoE (failsave over EtherCAT) protocol. The FSoE protocol is implemented according to the Safety over EtherCAT specification ETG.5100 version 1.2.0.

A correct mechanical connection between the customer and sensor shaft ensures that the sensor precisely detects the customer shaft's rotations. A safe position is provided by the plausibility check of two sensor systems. Detected errors are evaluated. The CAN interface outputs the validated position value and speed signal via the CANopen Safety protocol within an SRDO (Safety Relevant Data Object) using 2x2 messages (normal and inverted). The rotary encoder meets the conditions of safety level SIL2 according to IEC 61508 and performance level "d" according to EN13849. The prerequisite of safety-relevant operation is a failsafe master.

The potentiometer grinding track is embedded in a blue plastic housing and is picked up by precious metal grinders. The back of the housing is sealed dust-tight with a cover. The stainless steel drive shaft is mounted in bushings. Up to 3 potentiometer levels can be lined up one behind the other with a common wiper shaft. The levels can be adjusted against each other. Delivery is possible with or without mechanical stops. The PP 27 potentiometers are used as setpoint adjusters and as actual value and reference potentiometers in control and measuring circuits.
