KAT SAPPHIRES LTD. is an ethical mining company with a 1 300 km2 of sapphire mining concessions located in Madagascar’s gem rich sapphire region, along with a fully mechanized operation from mine to market. Our mining entity is the largest holder of sapphire concessions in Madagascar. We are en route to becoming the leading worldwide sapphire mining company, as well as the world’s leading producer of gem quality pink sapphires. Our management team is made up of highly experienced mining professionals, having held key positions for world-class mining companies such as DeBeers, Anglo Gold, and Rio Tinto. For sapphires that receive heat treatment, we do not use flux-additives, nor do we sell lead-filled, recrystallized, diffusion treated, or synthetic sapphires. Our mining experts utilize space age technology to target 200 million year old sapphires. All treatments are done by Kat Sapphires Ltd in our Mauritius workshop and laboratory to guarantee a regulated and exact process without the use of devaluing additives. From mine to market our team of geologists, mining engineers, gemologists and lapidaries constantly ensures that our clients are acquiring their sapphires from the finest of sources. We produce in the complete respect of labor laws and international norms and practices. As a main supplier of sapphires directly to the trade and with guaranteed traceability we guarantee that all our sapphires originate from our conflict-free mine sites in Madagascar.
