Since 1990 the Namibia Craft Centre has been operating in Windhoek specializing in hand made craft, arts and gifts. Our key aim is to promote arts and culture of Namibian artists from varied communities and ethnic groups in rural areas. We showcase jewellery, hand-woven baskets, carpets, silk scarves, wooden objects, textiles and embroidered linens, as well as leather goods such as bags and accessories. We support over 4.000 crafters and strive to promote innovation, quality and diversity to provide our visitors with a rich cultural shopping experience. Over the years we have become the most important retail platform for products of craft enterprises and communities in Namibia. All products in our Centre are designed and developed in Namibia. We support sustainable utilization of Namibian natural resources and the use environmentally friendly products. You will be able to discover a large range of unique products of the finest quality. All of our leather products are handcrafted and hand sewn using traditional hand tools and methods. Natural Cosmetics from Namibia The company desert hills was established in 2008 with the intend to press the unique Namibian Nara Oil. The Nara plants grows naturally in the Namib Desert and is traditionally harvested by the Topnaar (#Aonin) people. During the harvest season members of the community go out on donkey-pulled carts to hand-harvest the valuable melon-like fruit. The seeds are then extracted from the fruit in an age-old tradition. This traditional wisdom is a valuable heritage passed on from generation to the next. Today laboratory tests have confirmed that the 100% pure, cold-pressed Nara oil produced by desert hills is high in essential Omega -6-fatty- acids and vitamins. Together with fine African butters and aromatic oils the novel Nara oil is used to make up the natural DESERT GOLD cosmetic range. This cosmetic range was formulated together with a professional natural skin care team. The formulations contain high amounts of the permeable Nara oil and certified organic butters and waxes keeping the skin naturally balance and hydrated. Products: Day Cream, Night Cream, Hand & Body Cream, Hand Cream, After Shave, Face & Body Soap, Body Oil. Desert hills commits to real-trade-terms and capacity building, by working directly with the Topnaar community. As part of the ethical trade agreements, workshops are facilitated to create direct income by setting up micro-businesses within the community.

Impresario is a manufacturer and producer of cold pressed cosmetic oils which include Marula, Mongongo, Baobab and Kalahari melon. All oils are extracted from seeds which is gathered from trees growing naturally in Namibia. We employ 500 ladies from the purer rural areas of Northern Namibia on the principles of wild harvesting and fair trade. Our products are natural, and organic with no harmful chemicals used in any of our processes. Our oils are refined to meet "cosmetic" grade international standards.
