Titanium for Implantable Medical Devices Ti 6Al/4V ELI sheet has found application in medical implants owing to its excellent biocompatibility, high strength, and MRI compatibility. In the cold rolled and annealed temper the material will not exhibit a continuous alpha network at prior beta grain boundaries or a continuous alpha case layer on the surface. Owing to the alloy’s high strength and low ductility, it is difficult to cold draw into finished shapes. Hot forming has been found to be effective.

AMETEK Specialty Metal Products has applied the high purity wrought powder compaction process to Ductile Cobalt Alloys in order to produce multiple ductile cobalt strip products generally used by weld wire manufacturers as sheathing for flux cored and metal cored hardfacing materials. These alloys range from 80 to 95% cobalt with Iron or Iron-Nickel additions to improve ductility for drawing operations.

Our standard offering of nickel chrome strip products contain a chrome percentage ranging from 20%, 30% and 35% chrome (balance nickel). Silicon can also be added to the product to promote de-oxidation during the welding process The 35% chrome (AMETEK 835) is one of the highest chrome containing products offered in the industry and our high purity process allows for elongations above 45% for even those products containing silicon additions between 1% and 2%.

Stainless steel grades cover a wide range of compositions which result in the generation of a variety of microstructures and mechanical properties. This group of alloys is useful for the replacement of mild steel in structures and components. Stainless Steel tubes manufactured by Fine Tubes have an excellent combination of corrosion resistance, metallurgical stability and formabilityStainless steels are favoured because they are very cost effective. They also have an excellent combination of corrosion resistance, metallurgical stability, formability, and are easily welded. Their fabrication characteristics, good mechanical properties and attractive finished appearance make high quality stainless steel tubing a popular choice in a range of industries. Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

In pneumatic conveying systems, conveying abrasive products – in particular at high conveying speeds – leads to abrasion and thus to wear in the pipe bends. In order to prevent this, the pipe bend of our highly wear-resistant DWR double-skin stainless pipe bends is encased in a second pipe bend, which creates a double-walled chamber. This acts, so to speak, as a “protective shield”: After the wear has taken place on the internal pipe bend, it fills with the product to be conveyed. When this process is completed, you are then conveying „product on product“ – and no further wear is possible! Version I: „Product-on-product” In this variant, the classic “double skin” comes into effect. not suitable for foodstuffs not suitable for material change Version II: „Lined with concrete” lined with extremely hard concrete colour: light grey not suitable for foodstuffs also available: lined with borosilicate glass
