We advise in all stages on the road to market, including crowdfunding, sourcing and fulfilment. In the first step we explore your idea and your business's needs and create a project plan. After this, several concept designs are created by sketching, 3D design, and prototyping. The design is then further developed by CAD design, 3D printing and design for manufacturing. At the end, we help you with the final prototype, tech pack and help you find the right sourcing agent or manufacturer. We assist the setting up of production with expert advice on manufacturing. In case of low volume production (less than 200 pieces a year), we can make the product in our studio.

Industrial design includes the visualisation of your idea, creating multiple style (appearance design) options, 3D design, CAD, rendering, prototyping, and making sure that the product is easily and efficiently manufacturable. We guide you through the product development process from start to finish and share our expertise to make sure your product launch will be a success. The average product takes 1-3 months to design, although it can be as short as a couple of days, or as long as years as well. The outcome can be a small series, where we use 3D printing and other methods to create less a few pieces for the product which can be used for testing or to make the first sales. Or it can be a large series, where a factory produces 1000+ pieces of the product. Ideation starts with understanding your business plans and goals as well as your capabilities, strengths and restrictions. Then we take a look at market trends, competitors products and best practices in your field and in similar areas. We analyse this information, then let our minds free and create ideas. During this process, we find insights and identify opportunities. How do we decide which ideas are good? - Feasibility: Is the idea risky for engineering or requires complicated processes? - Desirability: Are the target customers excited about the idea? - Viability: Will the customers choose this idea over competing products? - Time needed to get to market: Does the product need lots of certifications or the lead times are long? - Investment: Are the development costs too high? - Novelty: Does the idea fill a gap in the market? - Brand consistency: Does the proposed product fit into your current portfolio? - Gut feeling: Are you enthusiastic about the idea?

The product development process heavily relies on prototyping. During the design, we go back and forth between 3D design and tangible prototypes, constantly improving the details. Early mock-ups are usually made of paper, cardboard or plastic leftovers that represent the rough functions and measurements of a product idea. Later we use 3D printing, lasercutting and other methods to create realistic prototypes that can be used to test the idea and the design. High quality prototypes can be used for product photography for your website or crowdfunding page. We have a large network of 3D printers, lasercutters, CNC operators, woodworkers, metal workers and more, to make sure that the prototype get as close to the final product as possible.

Visualizing the shapes and features of the idea, and creating the main vision that will guide the whole product development journey. We develop multiple visual solutions for the idea from "mild" to "wild", all of which are desirable to your customers and are manufacturable. Concept design can be presented as sketches, early prototypes (mock-ups) or 3D renderings. These sketches focus on the main features of the product, for example: - What is the overall visual impression of the product? - Where are the buttons and other features placed and what do they look like? - What materials and manufacturing processes are used to produce the product? - How many parts is it made of? - How are the internal parts arranged?

As part of the product development process, we always keep in mind the manufacturer's point of view. Meaning that we design from the start to minimize the problems of production and keep the budget tight. With an in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, we optimise the design for lowest production cost and lowest manufacturing risk. Parametric design is a process based on algorithmic thinking that enables the expression of parameters and rules that, together, define, encode and clarify the relationship between design intent and design response. It allows us to create complex shapes which were not possible just a few years ago. Production of these designs are possible with traditional methods like injection moulding, or in most cases, with 3D printing. Parametric design can be used the create the overall visual look of the product, or a smaller part of it, for example a special surface area on the housing of a device.
