The touch surface material usually is PET or PC. The circuit can be PET, FPC or even PCB. Details of Flex & Rigid Membrane Switches: The circuit of membrane switches can be flex and rigid. It depends on the customer end application and also related to the cost budget and other considerations. For example, life, resistance, connection type on the mainboard, etc. For the Rigid circuit membrane switches, the circuit is rigid printed circuit board. The material of rigid PCB is usually FR4 and Copper. By this type of membrane switch, the connector usually is the SMD connector (sometimes also can be straight through connector). For some application which need very stiff capability, then use PCB circuit membrane switch. For the flex circuit membrane switches, there are two types. They are silver printed PET circuit and copper etched FPC circuit. Usually if the membrane switches need assembled many LEDs, then we suggest to use FPC circuit, it can get more stable LED soldering quality. For the normal application the PET circuit is enough, which is more economical.

For example, life, resistance, connection type on the mainboard, etc. Usually if the membrane switches need assembled many LEDs, then we suggest to use FPC circuit, it can get more stable LED soldering quality. For the normal application the PET circuit is enough, which is more economical. In addition if the conductor pitch is 0.5mm, although we also can print it, but we still suggest to use FPC circuit. Because of that 0.5mm pitch is too small and it is easy to occur the short circuit problem.

A box build assembly includes all the other assembly work involved in an electro-mechanical assembly, other than the manufacturing of the PCBA. A box build assembly is also sometimes called “turnkey assembly”. Moreover, it consists of an outside box/enclosure, inner PCBA, interface keypad, wire-harness, connectors, displays, keyboards, etc. Assemble all components and parts to be a full and completed product that can be directly sent to the customer for selling is just box-build assembly. In addition, it covers such a wide range of items that requires the final assembly manufacturer has very strong engineering capability, skilled workers, a clean environment, good supply-chain management, good components, and parts coordinate ability for final assembly manufacturing.

Capacitive touch screens consist of an insulator such as glass, coated with a transparent conductor such as indium tin oxide (ITO). As the human body is also an electrical conductor, touching the surface of the screen results in a distortion of the screen’s electrostatic field, measurable as a change in capacitance. In order to determine the location of the touch, you would use different technologies. Then, send the location to the controller for processing. Capacitive touchscreens are those that respond to the electrical properties of the human body. This means that it is possible to control them with a light touch. So, the user doesn’t need to exert heavy pressure on the screen. The drawback to a capacitive touchscreen, though, is that it usually cannot be controlled by a gloved finger or an input device, such as a stylus.

Silicone rubber keypads are the most widely used form of switch technology today. We offer reliability, long life and design flexibility. Conductive rubber switches and keypads were originally developed for the electronics industry to meet the increasing demand for inexpensive momentary switches. Conductive rubber keypads became desirable because they look and feel like traditional push-button style switches, but do not have their inherent disadvantages.Innovative key coatings for our silicone rubber keypads are silicone, parylene, and Dura (Hard Coat). Silicone rubber keypads can be designed for applications exposed to water and hydrocarbons. Enhanced graphics and lighting options allow your product to incorporate features not found on standard silicone. The silicone rubber keypads are widely used on genset controllers, test instruments, industry production machines etc.

The medical and healthcare industry has super high requirement for the medcial membrane switches, keypads and membrane circuits. They should be much more durable and Antibacterial. The products used in this special industry must have much more strictly production process control. Therefore, they need to use different materials and different production environment.
