Chimney cowls come in various shapes, sizes and materials, such as stainless steel, ceramics, concrete or plastic. They can be adapted to different types of fuels used in buildings, such as wood, coal, gas or heating oil. It consists of several elements. The first one is the base, which ensures stable attachment of the base on the top of the chimney. It can be in the shape of a cone, plate or other form enabling a safe connection to the fireplace. The main part of the cowl is the outlet section, which is responsible for exhausting exhaust gases outside the building. It can have different shapes such as cylindrical, conical or flat, depending on the requirements and design. This part is important for ensuring proper airflow and minimizing resistance to exhaust gases.

The inner part of the chimney cowl is the so-called connector. It can be of various shapes, for example cylindrical or conical, and is used to lead flue gas from the chimney to the outside. Chimney cowls can also be equipped with additional elements, such as rotating wind girders, which increase the efficiency of the chimney by ensuring adequate draft. There are also chimney cowls equipped with anti-bird nets that prevent birds from accessing the chimney, which protects against contamination and blockage of the duct.

The cowl is an important element of the flue gas discharge system from the building. It has a protective function, improves the efficiency of the chimney and protects against adverse weather conditions. Rotating chimney cowl protects the chimney flue from harmful weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, or other debris that can get inside the chimney.
