Description
The tempering operation includes heating and cooling stages in order to provide compression stress to the exterior surfaces and indirect tensile stress to the middle area of the glasses on the horizontal line. The full-tempered glasses are 5 times more durable than the glasses without any kind of operation. When they got broken, they scatter as partial pieces like really small ice particles not as big pieces. Those scattered pieces are expected to create less damage than the float glasses scattered completely. The tempered glasses which are also known as hardened glasses are a type of safety glasses. The tempered glasses are used for the areas where the glasses are expected to be broken hard and not to harm consumers when they are broken such as front glasses for the buildings, appliance glasses, automotive sector, shower cabins and bath-tub glasses, furniture glasses, railings, banisters, glasses for balcony closing systems.
