The Flo-Sonic OCFM is a permanent measurement system for open channel applications using the ultrasonic transit time technology. It is designed to suit a large range of applications for clean to polluted water with very different flow conditions. The Flo-Sonic OCFM sensors are designed to be installed in channels and rivers with various shapes and dimensions with a maximum width of 15 m for clean water applications. The Flo-Sonic OCFM system consists of one or more Flo-Sonic ultrasonic speed processors associated to one UNI-TRANS flow processor and monitor and two Flo-Sonic probes per path. Very complex applications can be equipped with up to 16 measurement paths. The Flo-Sonic OCFM uses the very latest electronic technology combined with highly efficient digital signal processing (D.S.P). The IFQ LOGGER is a portable converter and logger for Flow-Tronic flow sensors. It disposes of one RS485 digital serial communication port with specific communication protocols for RAVEN-EYE or BELUGA flow sensors and one 4-20 mA input for external level. The IFQ LOGGER combines high performance with low power requirements. The unit needs 12 VDC nominal power supply either provided from an optional battery pack or solar panels. The humimeter LM6 leather moisture meter is a handheld moisture meter for measuring the moisture of leather in a nondestructive manner. Handling and measuring procedure: After selecting the calibration curve for the leather to be measured, press the humimeter LM6 onto the leather surface with appropriate pressure. Water content and temperature can immediately be read off the large, well lit display. The measuring procedure does not destroy the leather surface in any way. The humimeter RH5 paper moisture meter is a powerful moisture tester with sword probe (see picture) for humidity measurement in paper stacks. To determine humidity, the sword sensor only has to be inserted into the paper stack and left there for a short conditioning time. A further area of activity of Suvis is the development and application of modern numerical methods for the calculation (prediction) of flows using CFD in industry, science etc. Our employees are especially trained in view of technical applications of numerical flow simulations. Within the recent years we conducted several projects in the area of multiphase flows. We dealt with applications in the optimisation of processes in chemical engineering, the transport of particles, gas cleaning and particle separation from gases and liquids, and the calculation and optimisation of cyclone separators. We apply powerful commercial software tools like grid generators in order to generate numerical grids using CADdata in a short time for even complex applications. Also, for flow calculations and the evaluation of 3D flow fields we apply powerful software solutions. Furthermore, for certain individual problems we apply codes we have developed our selves.

The particle image velocimetry (PIV) is an optical noninvasive working flow velocity measurement method. The flow field is made visible by introducing into the fluid small buoyancy neutral particles – the so called tracers. The particle flow then is illuminated with the aid of a light sheet and recorded at two defined different times within a small time interval with a digital camera. Because the particle move within this time interval with the flow, one can calculate the particles velocity by knowing its path between the two moments of illumination. The result is a velocity vector field of the flow. Here, we assume that the particles are small and follow the flow without any slip. Compared to local methods like LaserDopplerVelocimetry (LDV) with the ParticleImageVelocimetry one can reconstruct a whole flow region An extension of ParticleImageVelocimetry is the combination of PIV with thermometry (PIV/T).

Most industrial process temperature control units work through the pressure exerted on the water of the process utilities: this is convenient in most “standard” cases, given the higher efficiency developed by the system. However, some critical process issues can make this type of operation difficult: this is the case of machines that leak fluids, or with leakage, and that it is not convenient to maintain on the spot. In such cases, it is therefore useful to work with a vacuum temperature control unit, which sucks in utility water. FTT PD water thermoregulators are flexible and effective systems, which can work under either pressure or vacuum depending on the peculiarities of the system. Any fluid losses are therefore minimized during operations. A simplicity of operation is also ensured by the touch-screen panel, also found on other Frigofluid temperature controllers. Models with an increased pump are also available for users characterized by high pressure drops.

Often the main critical issue for molding industries is not achieving the temperatures needed for their processes, but maintaining them over time. Hence the usefulness of temperature control units that not only send the fluids needed to do the job up to temperature, but are capable of subsequent self-tuning. This is the way FTT DC water temperature controllers operate, which wrap direct cooling to stabilize fluid grades after the desired temperature has been reached. This requires integration with a source of cooled water: a simple well or a chiller or cooling system (chiller or dry cooler). Our engineers are available to determine which cooling solution is the most effective and economical. Not only that. The management of these successive heating-cooling steps is easier when done with a touch screen: a feature with which FTT DC temperature controllers are equipped. Units in the FTT category are specially designed to condition molds.

FT water temperature controllers make it possible not only to cut down on the use of electrical power for heating (in fact, the heating elements remain off during steady-state operation), but they also make it possible to limit the cooling power spent on cooling by self-stabilizing through a process called Autotuning. This system also saves resources (water and energy) compared to units without them. They are designed to condition molds and cylinders for various industrial processes, including plastics and rubber molding and extrusion, and in the paper industry.

We offer you standardised complete systems for the measurement of volume & mass flows. We use measuring elements that have established themselves within previously built customer-specific test benches and convince with high measuring accuracy. We develop and manufacture Venturi tubes and nozzles as individual components or as VMF® complete systems. The VenturiMasterFlow® measuring system, VMF® for short, is used for the precise measurement of air or gas volume and mass flows of 100,000 m³/h. The core of the VMF® system is the FlowProcessor, a PC system with the corresponding data acquisition hardware. Venturi nozzles convince by a low remaining pressure loss and are suitable for flow measurement of gases with high temperatures. The software developed under LabVIEW is operated either via touch screen or with mouse and keyboard.
