  1. METAMOR DECORATION LTD

    United Kingdom

Our metalising & spray painting factory was founded in the early 1990s, in Chester – almost 30 years of experience! Well equipped with a range of automated machinery & tool room where new tooling is worked on & repaired. Vacuum metallising, or PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), is the process of physically plating a metal material onto a plastic part in a vacuum chamber. The evaporation of the metal occurs by metal wire being in contact with a heat source (electrically charged tungsten filament) in a closed chamber under high vacuum. The lack of pressure lowers the boiling point of the metal which causes the liquid metal to change to a gaseous phase. The metal vapour encounters the oxygen in the air forming a stable oxide layer on the surface of the components. This gives the component an environmentally friendly, decorative metallic coating (check out our Gallery to see finished products). Metallised plastic components can be recycled and is a great alternative to traditional metal shrouds or over-shelled options which can’t be easily separated for recycling. Metamor has years of experience in providing innovative and custom spray finishes.

  2. CAMBRIDGE VACUUM ENGINEERING

    United Kingdom

CVE has developed a local vacuum EB welding system which can be readily transported and operated on site and applied to structures significantly larger than can be accommodated in a vacuum chamber. Ebflow eliminates the need for a vacuum chamber through a local, coarse vacuum which is established and maintained only where it is needed. High performance EBW can take place in any plant where large components are welded on a large scale as long as adequate shielding from X-Rays can be provided. Using a system of sliding seals and precision handling enables fast longitudinal and circumferential welds on large work pieces. A coarse vacuum is ideal for thick section welding - achieving the fastest thick section welding rates ever. There is no filler wire, the autogenous weld can be heat treated and the weld rendered metallurgically indistinguishable from the parent material.

Vacuum bag sealing Vacuum bag heat sealing machines serve a host of purposes and allow you to safely package food, pharmaceutical goods and other materials into tightly-sealed bags with the air removed from the inside. There are many different vacume bag sealing machines on the market to suit a wide range of requirements and budgets, they are often referred to as vacsealers. These vac sealer machines fall into two main categories; Internal or chamber vacuum sealers; the bag is placed inside the chamber where the air is removed using a vacuum pump, ideal for smaller, wet, dry or liquid products External, nozzle or probe type machines are ideal for larger plastic bags. These are more suitable for dry products but not for liquids.. Vacuum packing removes air or oxygen from the package prior to sealing. This involves placing the product in a plastic bag, removing air from the inside, and sealing the pack. The purpose of vacuum packing is to remove oxygen to extend the shelf life of foods and or reduce the size of the package.
