Drivers park their car on a pallet in a cabin. The cabin is the only interface between the driver and the car park. From this point everything is automatic. The door of the cabin closes and the car is transported downwards by lift. From there the car standing on the pallet is brought to a free parking space via roller conveyors. The pallet based parking system RESPACE is characterized by a very compact design. From the lift the pallets with the vehicles are moved directly to adjacent parking spaces. Car parking and removal follows according the puzzle principle. The car park has 60 parking spaces and is used as a hotel car parking, but also available to the public.

As no pallets are used for transporting cars, the system is very fast and efficient. Drivers park their car at ground level in one of the entrance cabins and receive a parking ticket. The cabin is the only interface between the driver and the car park. From this point everything is automatic. The cabin’s rolling gate closes and the car is transported below ground in a lift before it is collected by one of horizontal transfer vehicles and brought to a free parking space. In the palletless parking system CUBILE, the Lödige Shifter does the heavy lifting. Based on the continuous measurement of natural magnetic field of the Earth, the sensor is recording field disturbance caused by a vehicle. Information about the state of the actual occupancy of a parking space is obtained as the current register and immediately transferred by radio to a base station using a private or a public IoT network.
