Our highly flexible vacuum hoses are produced from longitudinal seam-welded, thin-walled stainless steel tubes, which are hydraulically formed in special-purpose machines. Our vacuum hoses are specifically cleaned after metal forming, during processing protected from uncleanness and prior to dispatch shrink-wrapped. Furthermore, all vacuum hoses will be leak tested prior to dispatch, by means of helium leak testing with up to 10E-8 mbar*l/s.

We supply a wide range of welded exhaust tube in standard lengths of up to 6 metres, with option for custom lengths available. Grades 304 (1.4301) and 409 (1.4512) are the most standard grades, however other grades such as 439 (1.4510) and 441 (1.4509) are also available upon request. Products are generally kept in the As Welded condition however we also hold a complete range of polished material. For more difficult tube manipulations, a range of fully annealed material is also available from stock.

The welding process is one of the core ways in which we manufacture precision tubes. Our high-quality tubing starts off as a flat strip of metal. The strip is formed into a tube through a series of rollers and the join, also called the seam, is then welded together. Welded Processes Special non-destructive testing methods – including eddy current, ultrasonic and pressure testing - are used to ensure a consistent weld. Just like with seamless manufacturing, welded tubes can be drawn down by plug drawing or sinking. This method can be used to create very long lengths of coiled tube, these can also be measured during coiling using a laser measurement. Welded and redrawn tube manufacturing employs elements of both the welded and seamless processes. A welded and redrawn tube is welded in a conventional manner but then transferred to our seamless mill, located in the same factory. Here the product is redrawn to achieve a welded and redrawn finish. The objective of redrawing is to achieve homogenisation of the weld following annealing by cold working. The microstructures inside duplex stainless steels are approximately 50 per cent austenite and 50 per cent ferrite, and consequently duplex products share the physical properties of both ferritic and austenitic grades. Duplex stainless steels are resistant to the cracking caused by chloride stress corrosion in austenitic grades, and have improved resistance to localised corrosion. This family of stainless steels has roughly twice the yield strength of their counterpart austenitic grades . Higher hardness values provide better wear resistance for high precision tubes. 347 (UNS S34700/1.4550) is a fully austenitic niobium stabilised stainless steel. The addition of Niobium reduces the creation of carbide precipitation in service between 430 to 900 degrees C and during welding processes and increases the mechanical strength of the material. This grade has good resistance to oxidation and corrosion along with good creep strength and can be used at temperatures where carbide precipitation may occur in non-stabilised grades e.g., 304. It is used principally in aerospace exhaust manifolds and engine components, chemical processing equipment running at high temperatures and in nuclear processing piping. Alloy 209 is a fully austenitic nitrogen strengthened stainless steel, having twice the yield strength and superior corrosion resistance at room temperature when compared to 316/316L or 317/317L stainless steels. This grade does not become magnetic when cooled to sub-zero temperatures or to a cold working process and has high resistance to sulphide stress corrosion cracking in both annealed and cold worked/ cold worked & aged form up to 30 HRc hardness. 21Cr-6Ni-9Mn is a high manganese nitrogen strengthened, austenitic stainless steel. It combines high strength in the annealed condition, excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures as well as good resistance to lead oxide and a high level of corrosion resistance at ambient temperatures. The alloy can be fabricated and formed much the same as type 304 and 316, and is readily wieldable. It remains nonmagnetic after severe cold work.
