Fine Tubes manufactures a range of specialist stainless steel tubes used to produce high-performance and ultra high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC and UPLC) columns. Our tubes are components in both liquid and gas chromatography columns which are used for analytical and preparative processes across the fields of biochemistry and analytical chemistry. Tightest Tolerance Control The control process during manufacture of these tubes is critical to meet the highest specifications demanded in this area. The percentage Cross Section Area Reduction (% CSAR) through pilgering and drawing is specific to each product’s dimensions and specifications. Surface Finish The ID surface finish is further refined by passivation, polishing or electro polishing processes. OD surfaces are finished down to 0.1μm (0.25μ") and ID down to 0.16μm (0.40μ") and 0.08μm (0.20μ") with electro polishing. Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

At Superior Tube we commonly use zirconium-based alloys to manufacture nuclear reactor components such as control rods and cladding, coolant channels, seal tubes and other equipment intended for use in a radioactive environment. Zirconium alloys have low neutron absorption, high strength and high corrosion resistance under different operating conditions. Compared to stainless steels, zirconium tubing is desirable because of its texture. The metal has a high yield strength and is more resistant to irradiation creep and stress corrosion cracking. Superior Tube can manufacture precision tubes in the following Zirconium alloys Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

Superior Tube is a leading supplier of hydraulic tubes to the aerospace industry where our products are deployed in the engines and airframes of both commercial and military aircraft. Our thin wall tubes are used to actuate flight control surfaces such as flaps and slats, and are also crucial components in landing gear and brakes. The high quality tubes we manufacture provide the extra force required to move large control surfaces that bear heavy aerodynamic loads, and are critical to the safe operation of the aircraft. As such they have a high strength to weight ratio. Their effectiveness is important when it comes to aircraft operating costs, particularly where fuel consumption is concerned. Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

Major engineering companies who design and manufacture aerospace engines rely on the strength and durability of tubing products made at the Superior Tube mill. This is due to our reputation for producing high quality, high strength, yet lightweight tubing. You’ll find our tubes at work within a variety of systems in aircraft including fuel delivery, fire suppression, drain lines and bleed air systems. Bleed air is high temperature, high pressure air taken from the jet engine and fed into various areas of the plane to be used for things like de-icing and cabin pressurization. We use high performance materials such as Alloy 321 stainless steel and Inconel 625 and 718 for applications that deal with extreme temperatures. Precision tubing for aerospace engines can be ordered in sizes from 0.250” outside diameter right up to 1.5”. Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

Major players in both the aerospace and nuclear power industries rely on Superior Tube for precision tubing to protect their control systems and instrumentation. Meanwhile, control and measuring devices critical to the safe functioning of nuclear reactors also require our high quality tubes. Within reactor cores, our instrumentation and control tubing encases equipment for monitoring various factors such as pressure, temperature, density differences and fuel burn up rates. It’s an extremely demanding environment where durability and reliability are absolutely critical. Superior Tube supplies instrumentation tubing in straight and coiled tube forms. The most common materials used are special grades of stainless steel and nickel alloys. Superior currently produces instrumentation tubing from up to 1.5” in outside diameter down to less than .020” OD. Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

Superior Tube has a long history of supplying high quality metal tubing to the nuclear power industry going right back to its inception after World War II. It’s an area where strict compliance and integrity are absolutely critical. We have a track record of developing new solutions and helping the nuclear energy sector to advance. Our tubes are deployed in the cores of nuclear reactors, where they must endure in an extremely demanding environment for the entire life cycle of each reactor. Control rod and cladding tubing are critical safety components, as they are responsible for controlling the nuclear reaction and energy output within the core. Superior currently produces control rod tubing from 1.0” in outside diameter down to around .250” OD. If you have demand of products within or outside of this range, please contact us so we can provide a solution. Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

Since the earliest days of the nuclear power, Superior Tube has been manufacturing high quality metal seal tubing and O-ring seals for use in reactors. For the safe running of nuclear generators, compliance with order specifications and the integrity of the metal parts are of critical importance. They have to last from the day the reactor is commissioned until the end of its life cycle, surviving extremes of heat and nuclear radiation. Today, O-ring and seal tubing components from Superior Tube are deployed in reactor cores across the world. Because of our track record delivering the highest quality O-rings and seal tubes, we have also been able to work with the nuclear industry to develop new solutions and help advance the technology. Please note that we have a minimum order value of £10,000.

In pneumatic conveying systems, conveying abrasive products – in particular at high conveying speeds – leads to abrasion and thus to wear in the pipe bends. In order to prevent this, the pipe bend of our highly wear-resistant DWR double-skin stainless pipe bends is encased in a second pipe bend, which creates a double-walled chamber. This acts, so to speak, as a “protective shield”: After the wear has taken place on the internal pipe bend, it fills with the product to be conveyed. When this process is completed, you are then conveying „product on product“ – and no further wear is possible! Version I: „Product-on-product” In this variant, the classic “double skin” comes into effect. not suitable for foodstuffs not suitable for material change Version II: „Lined with concrete” lined with extremely hard concrete colour: light grey not suitable for foodstuffs also available: lined with borosilicate glass
