At Befort, spherical precision optics pass through the hands of qualified specialists. They work with a sure instinct and stateoftheart technology. The machine processing of each surface is done on CNC grinding and polishing machines. We produce spherical precision lenses from optical glass, quartz glass and radiationresistant materials with diameters from 3 mm to 130 mm and a curvature radius from 1.18 mm to plane. We make individual lens elements, achromatic systems, concave mirrors, cylinder lenses and other precisely fitting glass geometries to suit your specific application.

Finest quality surface polishing is vital in plane optic production. At Befort, this has top priority from production all the way to final inspection. Thanks to sophisticated CNC technology, we are able to produce single planeoptic components as well as multifunctional systems. We process optical glass, filter glass, quartz glass and float glass up to a size of 600 mm diameter. We make filters, groundglass screens, plane mirrors, windows with a plane parallel surface contour and realize customized solutions for specific applications. In our test laboratory we measure machined surfaces with an interferometer to be able to guarantee top optical quality! No lens element leaves our factory before it meets the exact specifications and requirements of the customer

Befort – Achromats of our standard program are characterized by specific selection of the glass type realization integrated in the optics reflex reducing (AR) coating high UVresistance All Achromats are available with black anodized aluminum mounts. The adjustment of the AR coating to other wave length ranges is possible, optionally, air spaced achromats for extreme UV applications are available. Coating substrates is one of our core competences. We have been coating precision optic components with optically effective layers ever since 1948. Over the years, technical specifications and possibilities have radically changed. We now have several highvacuum plants, an ultrasound cleaning and drying plant at our disposal to treat the substrates. We also build our own equipment e.g. for asymmetrical prisms. Coated substrates are inspected and documented with a "Lambda 900" PE spectral photometer. Antireflection coatings

Befort Mirrors are equipped with either metallic layers (gold, silver or aluminum) and a protective layer or with a dielectric HR layer. Mirrors are available in various geometries, forms and substrates. Befort also replaces mirror layers of telescope mirrors. Please contact us for details

The liquid lens objective is an Smount objective with internal focusing on the basis of a liquid lens. The working distance can be electronically set by applying voltage. This procedure makes mechanical components completely obsolete. The objective’s design is compact and robust. The objective has excellent optical properties and is ideally suited for observation or image processing tasks. Focal length and mounting thread can be adjusted to customer specifications.

Befort VIS objectives are colorcorrected for VIS use and are routinely equipped with VISAR coating. The UV objectives are made of quartz glass or CaFl2 and optimized for λ = 185 nm

Befort develops and manufactures laser optics for a wide range of applications since more than 20 years. Befort offerings range from a simple AR coated protective glass with a high laser damage threshold to a complex focus readjustment unit for ultrashort pulse lasers (Zoombox). Our laser optics are made of high quality Schottglass or quartz glass. Befort coats the optics precisely for their wave length. The coating exhibits a particular high laser damage threshold (LDT). The Befort measuring magnifier design provides for a parallaxfree reading. Measuring magnifiers are available with 6, 8 and 10fold magnification. Measuring plates are exchangeable.
