In addition to science and technology translations for a specialist audience, we offer a wide range of 'general' English to Dutch and Dutch to English translations. These may include articles that explain scientific results to a wider public, like our work for TNO, or internal documents that guide policy, such as financial reports and messages to employees. Another element of our translation services is subtitling, in which we transcribe Dutch videos and provide an English version that captures both the broader meaning and the subtleties of the speaker(s). This allows organisations to reissue older videos or create new ones with a larger audience in mind, potentially adding thousands of views. Rates: Up to 5,000 words - 18 cents per word / 5,001 words to 10,000 words - 17 cents per word / 10,001 words or more - 16 cents per word

Our work includes projects as diverse as translating physics courses and guidelines for logistical planning process software as well as editing valedictory speeches. For all of our clients, we make it our business to keep track of preferences in style and terminology, creating consistent Dutch to English and English to Dutch technical translations every time. For translations, the word rate is 18-22 cents, depending on the length, content and deadline specifications. For many English technical translations, a turnaround of 1000 words per hour is completely feasible. The rates are only fixed once a quotation is proposed and accepted. Original documents are sometimes edited after a quotation has been agreed upon and often need to be updated as technology evolves, so revisions are always possible.

Our hourly rate ranges from €90 to €120 depending on the content and assignment specification.

From magazines to blog posts and scientific reports to conference speeches, CPLS is able to provide an experienced, native English editor for all your textual requirements. Our options include: (1) proofreading a text to correct the English spelling and use of grammar, including offering suggestions for changes when the meaning of a sentence is unclear, (2) ensuring that either US or UK English (or indeed any other terminology requirement) is followed consistently and correctly throughout a text, and (3) copy-editing a text to fix mistakes while also enhancing it with new passages or rewrites. Changes are based on the client's specifications, such as a specific tone of voice or intended outcome. On the basis of the content, our hourly rate for editing is €90-120. The speed of proofreading depends on the quality of the English or Dutch and the assignment specifications, but a rate of 1000 words per 20-30 minutes is completely normal.

We have covered more than a dozen science, technology and innovation conferences, adding value to the pool of communication resources that our clients are able to draw on in order to inform their communities or to publicise their initiatives and attract new customers and stakeholders. This also helps to keep us at the forefront of developments in all sorts of innovative fields, so we'll never be thrown off guard by the contents of your briefing. In addition to writing on the basis of presentations, workshops and panel discussions, we often conduct interviews to gain extra insights that can take your article to the next level. These interviews also help us to build up long-lasting relationships with our clients, a number of whom we've worked with for ten years or more. As a guideline, our rate varies from 750 to 900 euros for a full day, plus travel and accommodation expenses. The copywriting that follows is based on our hourly rate of 90 to 120 euros, depending on the complexity.
