The Rotavac One is our complete compact pilot filter station. Easy to install and operate it is ideal for small volume applications, process validation and pilot-scale trials. The unit has a small 2m x 1m footprint, comprising of 1.3m² skid mounted rotary vacuum drum filter (RDVF), filtrate receiver, filtrate pump, vacuum pump, blower (scraper discharge version only), local control panel. Two versions are available: Rotavac One S, scraper discharge and Rotavac One P, precoat discharge. These filters are ideal for larger test programmes under actual manufacturing conditions. The Rotavac Lab is a fully functional and representative lab scale rotary drum vacuum filter (RDVF) and filtration system, generally used for product evaluation tests or as a preliminary step towards pilot scale and full scale equipment trials. The unit can be used to validate the suitability of this type of continuous vacuum filtration equipment. The equipment offers the advantage of an easily interchangeable discharge system so that different configurations can be trialled if required. It is supplied with a control panel for modifying drum and agitator speeds and, when using a precoat discharge, the knife advance rate. A separate skid mounted feed tank, mixer and feed pump is included with the RDVF. The unit is easy to assemble and we can provide full detailed instructions including photographs at the point of hire. We include filter cloths from our extensive range of fabrics. Possibly one of the simplest filtration units used in industry today, the tipping pan filter is ideal for batch processing rapid-settling, fast-filtering crystalline suspensions. The filter is an open-topped vessel which is fitted with a false base, drainage grids and filter medium. The solid/liquid suspension is fed onto the surface of the pan and, at the same time, vacuum is applied to the base of the pan. The vacuum assists in dewatering the suspension thereby producing a filter cake on the filter medium. The filtered liquid (filtrate) is collected from the base of the pan through a special valve assembly. The filter cake can be washed in the pan as many times as is required by the process to achieve the desired product purity. Once the washing stage has completed, the pan is inverted and the filter cake is discharged.

Similar in general operation to the rotary drum vacuum filter, the rotary table vacuum filter (RTVF) is particularly suited to rapid-settling, fast-filtering crystalline suspensions. RTVFs are continuous filtration units and able to handle large flow rates. The orientation of the rotary table enables a thick filter cake to form on the surface. As the table rotates, the filter cake is cut from the table surface using a specially designed auger. A small, residual heel of solids is retained on the filter which helps to protect the filter medium.

For all precoat knife discharge rotary drum vacuum filters it is important that the knife advance system operates accurately and steadily so that the optimum usage of precoat material on the precoat filter can be attained. This latest design of knife discharge system has been developed by Filtration Services following many years of practical experience with earlier mechanical, hydraulic and electro-mechanical assemblies. All Filtration Services precoat filters benefit from this unique AKAS system, we can also adapt it to suit most existing precoat filter assemblies (e.g. Stockdale, Paxman, Dorr-Oliver, Eimco etc) and install it on site.

Inspection contracts typically cover an inspection of the equipment at agreed intervals, followed by a detailed report stating any recommended maintenance, repairs or spares. Beyond the work covered by an inspection contract our service contracts cover the maintenance work, typically involving lubricant changes, replacement of wear plate and filter media.

Filtration Services can provide filter spares and consumable items for all of our filtration equipment. We can also provide replacement parts for most other filters used in the chemical and process industries and redesign a wide range of replacement components for old or obsolete filters using our in-house design facility.
