The mobile robot RB-ROBOUT can transport loads of up to one ton in indoor industrial environments such as factories or warehouses. A few weeks ago, the leading company in collaborative mobile robotics launched the new RB-ROBOUT: an AMR with a payload of up to 1,000 kg designed to transport both material trolleys and loads directly placed on the platform. Its low 'mouse' height design and omni-directional movement based on 4 high-powered drive wheels make it ideal for working in warehouses, factories or any industrial environment, including confined spaces. The RB-ROBOUT is a mobile and collaborative robot capable of making decisions in real time, so it can safely share workspace with operators. For example, if it is transporting any material from one point to another and comes face to face with a pallet or any other obstacle, the RB-ROBOUT will avoid it and redefine its route as it does not make use of physical elements for its location and navigation.

Hannover Messe is one of the most important technology fairs in the world. It is focused on the industry’s development, where many business and networking chances take place. Today, as technology advances, it is more complex to differentiate between what is an industrial robot, what is a service robot and how to delimit their working areas. Nowadays, it is not only large companies that have access to industrial robots. More and more SMEs are experiencing an increase in profitability and a reduction in production costs by automating certain processes. One of the objectives of industrial robotics is to optimise production lines making them more agile and adaptable to the specific needs of each customer. According the World Robotics 2021 report, industrial robots are robots “for use in industrial automation applications”, while a service robot “performs useful tasks for people or equipment, excluding industrial automation applications”. The truth is that inside the industry there are scenarios where robots and humans have to share space and tasks, therefore, industrial robots are no longer restricted to a safety zone.
