Sumy Electrode ltd. is pleased to introduce as one of the leading and traditional manufacturers of Special purposes welding electrodes based in Sumy region, Ukraine, since 1930.We offer a wide range of welding consumables for diverse applications in industries like Shipbuilding, Construction, Oil and Gas, Repair, Offshore, Energy, Maintenance, Nuclear energy, etc. Our Sumy brand electrodes have been appreciated all over Ukraine, Russia, USA, Egypt, Poland, any many more countries.History of electrodes production dates back to 1930, when after implementation of the manual arc welding technology, at the plant there was established a workshop producing electrodes using liquid-bath method. Since that time there have been used only own-produced electrodes for welding purposes of the whole manufacturing process. Now Ukraine is one of the five countries producing titanium ore concentrates in the world. It has 20% of the world’s ilmenite reserves and production, including 40 titanium deposits.Taking into consideration that the main component of rutile coatings for welding electrodes is the mineral rutile, which consists mainly of titanium dioxide (TiO2), the constant availability of high-quality raw materials allows our company to keep our pricing and quality at the very competitive level.High-skilled professionals of our R&D department allowed us to work out a perfect stable classical technology for producing 175 grades of welding electrodes and 41 grades of welding wire, which are

Particular challenges To correct the effect of the tolerances of the parts, the welding robots path in conventional applications is usually adjusted, by means of a time consuming manual correction (teaching). The warping effect caused by the thermal expansion however cannot be compensated this way. For this purpose, QuellTech offers a perfectly tailored seam tracking solution, which is based on a QuellTech 2D-Laserline Sensor of the Q4 family. The method consists in measurement of the real position and width immediately ahead of the welding process. The laser sensor captures the real dimension of the weld bead, and the software used for this process simultaneously sends the nominal position to the robot. The robot performs a correction movement in X or Z position according to this measurement. This way not only the deviation caused by tolerances, but also the warping effect can be compensated – and the weldment takes place exactly at the required position.
