As our model, we found a moss that uses its small and fine structures and microscopic branches to keep the water in the forest clean and clear. In collaboration with the Neumarkt Environmental Institute and other universities and colleges, we succeeded in recreating the fine structures and enormous filtration capacity of this moss. The FIBALON® polymer fibre filter is a model of innovation and progress, and on these grounds its was named a flagship project for 2015 by the Cluster of Environmental Technologies Bavaria (UmweltCluster Bayern e.V.).
