The solution for this is the so-called bifurcated fan which is an axial fan where the air flow is divided in a tunnel, which means that the motor is not in the volume stream. Axial fans are a type of fan that creates airflow through a fan wheel that rotates around an axis and moves the air parallel to the axis. Axial fans can also be called propeller fans and are usually delivered as a complete unit consisting of fan wheel, motor and cover. Typically axial fans are direct driven with the impeller mounted on the motor shaft. There are also other designs such as e.g. belt-driven or with shaft bearing and coupling. The axial fan’s strength is to transport large volume flows at low pressures. At higher pressures, a centrifugal fan may be a better choice. To reach higher pressures with axial fans, these can be connected in series. Usually, the efficiency of an axial fan is comparatively lower than that of a centrifugal fan. But by using guide rails, diffusers and other accessories, an axial fan can reach the same or higher efficiency. The flow of axial fans can be regulated with vane or damper or speed regulation.

A mixed-flow fan combines the advantages of axial fans with the characteristics of radial fans. Simply described, it is an axial fan with a fan wheel in radial format. This provides a cost-effective design, in duct or box design, with a stable fan curve and relatively high pressure. A roof fan can be the same name referring to two different types of fans. On the one hand, it is the classic fan that is mounted indoors in homes and spins around to create an air flow in a room (these are also called HVLS fans (High-Volume Low-Speed)). And partly it is the type of fans that we work with – i.e. fans that are mounted outdoors on roofs belonging to e.g. apartment buildings, schools or industrial premises. A roof fan is a fan that is part of the ventilation system and has the task of extracting hot air, moisture and pollution from the indoor space and blowing them outside. The fans are usually designed to be robust and weather resistant as they are mounted on the roof. Of course, there are a variety of material designs adapted to the application needs.

ATEX fans are fans that are installed in environments where there is a risk that an explosive atmosphere can form. Therefore, these fans need to be designed according to the ATEX directives. Depending on the classification of the environment, internal solutions inside the fan, such as e.g. spark protection in the fan cover or non-sparking materials. While in other cases, EX-rated motors are also required. Explosive gases require special fans. Our factories are certified according to ATEX for the manufacture of fans for Zone 1 and 2 as well as for Zone 21 and 22 containing dust. The design, production and use of fans for explosive media or environment is clearly specified in Europe by standardized directives. To choose the right ATEX fan, one should start from operating data and process design, as well as whether there are any special requirements.

Radial fans or centrifugal fans are a type of fan that uses centrifugal force to create a pressure increase and a volume flow. This type consists of a fan wheel that rotates in a snail-shaped cover. The flow enters the fan through an inlet placed axially with the fan wheel shaft and motor, and is then thrown out radially with the help of the force from the fan wheel. Unlike axial fans, the motor is not in the volume flow of radial fans. To change the performance and characteristics of centrifugal fans, different designs are used on the fan wheel. The strength of the centrifugal fan is its versatility. A radial fan can be designed to transport a variety of volume flows at a wide range of pressures. At higher flows and relatively low pressures, an axial fan may be a better option. Centrifugal fans are available in single and double suction versions.
