Antifogging agents prevent the formation of condensation drops on plastic film. Condensation drops are undesirable on food packaging because they mar the package imaging and the packaged item is not clearly visible. In greenhouse film they prevent condensation from dripping, which results in brown spots caused by the concentration of light. In antifogging agents, special additives are worked into the polymer which migrate to the surface and minimize surface tension.

In film or flexible packaging processing, the COF (coefficient of friction) is a limiting factor for processing speeds. This is due to the tendency of films to adhere to metallic or other film surfaces. Slip agents considerably reduce this effect and provide for more efficient production conditions.

Centrefold plastic film is created by slitting blown film, which is closed on both sides, at the side or down the centre, as desired. It is basically folded flat film. Centrefold film can be used for a wide variety of packaging solutions. One good example is in the furniture industry, which uses centrefold film as furniture covers to protect pieces from dirt and dust. But centrefold film also plays a major role in product packaging in other areas such as e-commerce, the pharmaceutical industry and the textile industry. Centrefold film is mostly processed using machines – especially L sealers, for example. Centrefold film is one of the most common types of plastic film used in automatic packaging machines.

Blown film consistent quality by the roll At Dürrbeck you can expect a large selection of tubular film in various widths and thicknesses and with a range of features. This variety is important as products vary in their shapes and sizes, and require different levels of protection. Plastic blown film is especially suitable for products with adjustable lengths. Blown film is typically made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Polyethylene is affordable, durable, watertight and tear-resistant. Depending on how it will be used, we also produce plastic blown film made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), medium-density polyethylene (MDPE), and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). Blown film made of DKFol®-Eco and DKFol®-Eco-Coex offers especially high strength with low thickness. These films allow for a reduction in thickness, without compromising on strength and stability.

In its sensor housing, the combiSENSOR combines two displacement sensors. This unique sensor concept enables one-sided thickness measurement of electrically non-conductive materials on metallic objects. Its field of application is the thickness measurement of plastic film or of plastic coating on metal plates. The eddy current sensor penetrates the plastic layer and measures the distance to a metallic material underneath it, e.g. a metal plate. The capacitive sensor synchronously detects the distance to the plastic material. The thickness is determined based on the difference of both sensor signals.
