The fruits of the washnut tree or soap tree have been used all over the Asian region for thousands of years as a natural and gentle cleaning agent. The shell of the washnut contains the active cleaning agent saponin. It is highly water soluble and can be used in a wide range of cleaning and personal hygiene applications.
