Over the last two decades IGNIS has been used in many tunnels, primarily to provide passive fire resistance to the concrete structure, whether this is a segmental tunnel lining, sprayed or cast in-situ concrete.

The complete lifting solution we designed for inside a tunnel boring machine (TBM) consists of two vacuum lifters. The first vacuum lifter transports the tunnel segments and keystones to the segment feeder of the erector. To meet the erector’s position the suction pad is able to rotate 90 degrees during the transport. Vacuum lifter as part of the erector The second vacuum lifter operates as part of the erector and perfectly matches the interface of the TBM. To meet every required position the lifter is able to turn 360 degrees.

Our standard hood width is 500-1500mm wide and our standard tunnel lengths are 1,800, 2,200, 2,800 and 3,600mm. Should your product require a special solution, we will certainly find the right technical design for it. The heating power is between 15-36KW depending on the size of the hood and tunnel length. Introducing the K2100 Concrete Tunnel Segment Tong from KEDY, the perfect tool for handling precast concrete segments during underground tunnel construction. The K2100 is made to lift and position concrete segments with a maximum weight capability of up to 20 metric tons safely and effectively. In order to reduce the construction time of tunnels and make segment installation easier, FIP INDUSTRIALE has designed a mechanical system for the longitudinal connection of rings (Biblock system). Site experience has shown that the use of this system can reduce the time of ring installation up to 10%. Biblock system is manufactured with special high-resistance, unbreakable and dielectric plastic materials. Each set consists of the following elements: two sockets to be cast in the segments concrete; one connecting pin to be inserted in the sockets during installation of the segment; one bushing - optional in some models - that accompanies the pin and acts as aligner.
