Our H8101C glow in the dark directional tape is a chevron patterned photoluminescent egress tape with excellent glow in the dark properties. The product has endless applications but the directional arrow markings combined with the glow in the dark properties can highlight exits, egress points, access routes and provide guidance down walkways and towards the aforementioned areas. The directional egress tape produced is a midway point between our standard egress and high-quality egress marking tape in terms of glow performance. The photoluminescent standards are excellent providing approximately 4~6 hours of glow based on a standard charge. This allows us to provide another level of glow in the dark tape, in terms of performance and price.

Egress tape is the term used to describe a smooth photoluminescent (glow in the dark) marking tape. Photoluminescent tape is constructed from a conventional self-adhesive plastic base film impregnated with photoluminescent powder. The material is charged by natural or artificial lights when the lights dim the product instantly displays a bright light.

Egress glow in the dark hazard marking tape is a further development of our plain colour Egress tape. One slight disadvantage of a conventional photoluminescent egress tape is that the plain colour is not the most vivid, during daylight it is a conventional mild green colour. With the modification of creating black chevrons running at 45° angles throughout the length of the material it then effectively creates a much more visible product that is far more noticeable. During either natural or artificial lighting, photoluminescent hazard tape has a mild green shade yet when the lights go out it glows bright green. The black chevrons do not glow and remain the same colour in any lighting situation. Egress hazard tape is perfect for applying on stairs, walkways, access areas, exits etc.

Glow Line is an ingenious product, we use our photoluminescent Egress tape as the centre line then surround that by our black standard safety-grip coating, as we use a thinner line of Egress tape this lowers our production costs as we use less of the precious photoluminescent product. The centre glow in the dark stripe is 10mm wide, with the black either side being 20mm each making the entire width a very popular 50mm. The use of two contrasting colours creates a highly visible effect, perfect for highlighting. Heskins welcome heavy-duty bonding tape to its already vast range. This wonderful creation is a double tape used to bond or mount materials together. This is fashioned from a durable acrylic foam, with a pressure-sensitive adhesive, both of which are solvent-free, which is applied to both sides. This generates a solid bond before reaching full adhesion in roughly three days.

These square, anti-slip floor tiles feature a yellow reflective strip on one side, that could be used as the leading edge, or however you like. Reflective tape is a simple, self-adhesive, hi vis tape, suitable for marking out potentially hazardous or dangerous areas. It can be effectively used in any environment and takes literally minutes to apply. Formerly just a constituent to some of our other materials, reflective marking tape is now available in self-adhesive rolls.

Our Ribbed Rubber (type) Anti Slip Tape (H3435) is our second symmetrical non-abrasive anti slip material. H3418 was our first symmetrical product, due to its popularity we decided to develop the concept further. We often get asked if we can produce rubber anti slip materials. Natural products such as rubber and cork create problems with our quality control procedures, natural products vary from batch to batch, each inconsistency, however small, can create major problems when trying to coat the product with adhesives or choose the correct slitting machine recipe.

Cushion Grip tape is produced using PU. One of the many benefits of PU is that it provides high levels of cushioning; PU has a different construction from other plastics we utilise. When PU is produced it can be ‘foamed’, this then provides a deep cushioning effect that cannot be experienced with other plastics. The cushioning allows for a very comfortable barefoot experience, ideal when users will not be wearing shoes or boots. PU does not contain any of the potentially harmful chemicals present in other more commonly used plastics thus it can be used in applications where a conventional material would not be feasible.

It can be applied over branding or logos. As TackyGrip is optically clear, it is unobtrusive to any display of brands or logos, yet will provide slip protection. As with all Heskins products, application to a clean and dry surface is recommended, but once down, creates an anti-slip surface suitable for standing and walking, or on a raised or handheld surface.

Our latest addition to the non-abrasive range, iGrips is a rubber-like material that is soft to the touch. Suitable for applying to electronics as a means of enhancing grip to prevent damage from drops or to allow greater dexterity and control during use. The ‘bobbly’ surface is comfortable to the touch while offering excep­ti­onally high levels of grip.

Handrail grip is becoming an essential component of a modern workplace or public environment, so much so that the UK Building Regulations Act 2000 (part M1 & M2) stipulated that handrails need to be ‘slip-resistant and not cold to the touch’. Heskins has proactively taken this challenge on board and created handrail grips that are unique and possess the solutions to these demanding requirements. Heskins is known throughout the world as the leading anti slip experts, our specialist knowledge has been built over decades of experience and research, first, we focused on the anti slip aspect. A simple solution would have been to use our safety-grip range, this would have created a solution but an abrasive material would have had negative implications for users not wearing gloves.

The adhesive is different to regular products; due to its requirements for use, we had to modify it to hold the material around sharp angles. Flexible plastic films are made so by the addition of plasticisers. Plasticisers eventually degrade an adhesive applied to plastic films. In typical application situations, this does not affect performance, but for applications that FlowGrip is used for, it would reduce the likelihood of its effectiveness when applied to sharp angles. Therefore, we created an adhesive that would resist the adverse effects of the plasticisers, allowing FlowGrip to perform as intended.

We have introduced thick coarse resilient anti-slip tape to the range due to the high demand for a non-abrasive material to be used primarily for stair nosing inserts. Many inserts have a depth which non-slip tapes of regular thickness cannot fill. While we have created thick Safety-Grip to combat the issue, some people do not want an abrasive solution.

H3451 Coarse Resilient Lean is an industry-leading non-abrasive non-slip material. Developed closely from our H3450 Coarse Resilient. H3450 Coarse Resilient is a thick product, H3451 Coarse Resilient Lean was developed as a thinner (many customers do not require the thickness) alternative, the reduced thickness makes it more flexible and conformable.

Coarse resilient tape is perfect for areas that need a non-slip surface, however, it is perfect for barefoot traffic and areas exposed to water, such as gym washrooms, swimming pools and boats. Due to coarse resilient being waterproof and non-abrasive, it will cater to both of these. Coarse resilient anti slip tape is an embossed plastic film, which while being non-abrasive still possesses high levels of CoF (coefficient of friction). Using the embossing technique on most of our non-abrasive materials, this creates an excellent surface texture which has high levels of CoF. Using a technique of micro blowing while the material is still molten can create deep troughs and valleys, which can increase levels of CoF. A deeper pattern allows for less clogging by contaminants such as dust, ice, water etc.

Heskins developed aqua-safe, the world’s first non-abrasive anti-slip tape, we were shocked by how popular this became, we decided to manufacture a variation that possesses higher levels of grip and has a totally different feel; Resilient was born. Resilient tape has levels of grip that were previously only obtainable with an abrasive mineral top coating.

Aqua-Safe is our original non-abrasive waterproof anti-slip tape. In many instances an abrasive material cannot be used or is not ideal, this could be for the following reasons; The product must be cleaned easily. There must be no shedding of grit. A normal abrasive surface might abrade skin, fabric, wet suits or other materials in that particular situation. Cleaning machines or processes would not be compatible with an abrasive substrate

Heskins new egress glow in the dark marking tape, much like our current egress marking tape, is a smooth photoluminescent tape used for demarcation in buildings, particularly areas subjected to power outs. The base film is impregnated with a photoluminescent powder, charged by natural or artificial light. Once external light goes out, the egress tape is activated and glows brightly.

Heskins H6602 DOT tape is a glass bead version, using, as the name suggests, microscopic glass beads applied to the surface in a honeycomb-shaped grid. This formation allows a sufficient portion of the light shone at the surface to reflect directly back at the source in a wide cone that is suitable to allow perfect visibility to increase safety and reduce the risk of collisions in any lighting condition.

H6632 is a reflective tape with excellent retroreflective performance. This is achieved by a surface covered in tiny, man-made prisms which reflect the light directly back at the source in a tight cone. This increases visibility in virtually all lighting conditions, surpassing ECE104 requirements. The metallic film base on which the prisms are applied is covered by a plastic film that is heat-sealed along the edges to prevent water penetration and delamination. This manufacturing process, which is unique to our material, creates a safety tape that is impervious to corrosion, backed with a clear, pressure-sensitive adhesive that will adhere effectively onto intended surfaces.
