With a versatile punch/ laser combination service, Alpha are able to offer complete flexibility to produce punch details such as louvres and ribs alongside complex lasered profiles and etches in one process. The benefits of Punch/ Laser combination are that production time is dramatically reduced by combining the two processes. Costs savings are also made as complex and costly tooling is not required.

Utilising the latest in Fibre Laser Cutting technology Alpha Manufacturing are able to offer a versatile laser cutting service in various material types including; Mild Steel, Coated Steels, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Wood and Plastics. We currently operate one Co2 Bystronic Laser, one Bystronic BySprintFiber 4020 machine and our latest addition to our Laser service, the Trumpf Trulaser 3030 fibre machine. Fibre optic laser is the latest technology in laser cutting, with complete accuracy and ultra high-speed cutting (whilst also using fewer power resources than traditional lasers, meaning reduced costs to the customer).

Our state-of-the-art fibre laser provides you an unprecedented level of freedom in design. Capable of processing tube and box material in varying aluminium, stainless steel and titanium grades and thicknesses. Our laser service provides you with a wealth of new options to consider. As an All-In-One Solution, our laser can do more than just cut material. The laser can implement multiple functions in a single operation, including: cutting, drilling, notching and etching. What once would have taken hours and multiple operations and personnel, now only takes seconds with the help of our friendly Laser Operators, Adrian and Martin. Opposed to traditional cutting methods, laser machines do not require contact upon cutting, -minimising contamination and unwanted marking to the material. When paired with the internal suction probe (more commonly known as “the spoon”), we can produce a final product to a higher standard of finish both in terms of cleanliness and aesthetically.

Knight Optical’s Laser Optics range include Thin Film Polarisers which separate the s- and p-polarised light with negligible absorbance within the coating for low loss performance. The laser thin film polarisers are optimised for 515nm and 1030nm design wavelengths, ideal for Ytterbium (Yb) doped lasers including diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSL) and fiber lasers, as well as Nd:YAG lasers emitting at 1064nm. Currently, we stock thin film polarisers which work at either 45° or at Brewster angle (55.4°), both of which have been coated using ion beam sputtered (IBS) technology, creating a compact and durable coating, with a LIDT suited for ultrafast laser applications. Often used within a laser resonator to separate the different polarisation states and can be used as an alternative to polarising beamsplitter cubes or Glan-type polarising prisms. The Morgan Rushworth XR range of fibre lasers are equipped with a 3m x 1.5m cutting area with automatic shuttle table with dual pallet changer enabling parts to be safely loaded and unloaded whilst the machine is still cutting. The design includes the fibre laser source and chiller inside the body of the machine resulting in a compact footprint, ideal for the smaller workshop, as well as fast start up time from delivery of the machine to production cutting. Class leading components ensure superior cut quality, high reliability and reduced down time. The range covers from 1kw up to 4kw which with the high performance rack and pinion system for X & Y axis and rigid gantry and frame structure, resulting in fast acceleration, fast positioning speeds and fast cutting times.
