The Mesh faced Birch Plywood is available in 12, 15 & 18mm thick boards whilst the Hexagon faced Birch Plywood is currently only available in 18mm. Flexible Plywood can be used on any interior project that requires a bendable material to create a curve. Our customers have used this product product for a wide range of projects including furniture, cabinetry, curved walling, display plinths, exhibition stands and much, much more. Which Grain Direction for Flexible Ply If you want to know which grain direction you need for Flexible Ply the key thing to remember is that the grain follows the length of the board and that the board bends along the length long of the grain. The panels are available in long grain (portrait, tall and thin) 2440mm high x 1220mm wide or short grain (landscape, short and wide) 1220mm high x 2440mm wide. Think of long grain panels creating tall, narrow columns and short grain creating low, wide round plinths. We selected our Siberian softwood Plywood for its relative “flatness” compared to other, lower quality, softwood Plywood sheets. The boards are made up of nine plies (layers) of various softwood species such as Spruce and Larch. Each layer is bonded with a WBP, exterior grade glue. Unfortunately, and due to the current situation, we are all experiencing, for better or worse, Chipboard is difficult/impossible (delete as applicable) due to manufacturers choosing, to use their resources, to produce higher value products such as Melamine Faced Chipboard. As soon as things settle down we will be able to provide this product, online, albeit, at a significantly increased price, we guess! To further improve our Professional Edge Banding Service, we recently invested in a Homag S300 KDF1440. Its automatic glue flushing system, and the addition of a second, quick change, gluing unit, allows us to rapidly change glue colours to match the edging to give a near invisible, high quality glue line. This machine also features three automatic spray stations. The first applies a separating agent to help prevent glue adhering to the face of the board, the second, a lubricant to protect the face of gloss boards and the third, a cleaning agent to prevent a "shine line" when polished. Each feature of our new machine, along with skilled operators, and a robust quality control procedure, ensures each and every panel leaves our workshop with a perfectly edged finish.

The innovative features of our Edge Bander's glue pot also allows us to provide a PUR Edge Banding Service which is essential for projects that demand all the benefits that PUR edge banded panels provide. Why is PUR edge banding better? Without doubt, the PUR adhesives inherent, and superior bonding strength (when compared to EVA Glue) is completely unaffected by high temperature and provides a water tight, anti bacterial, bonded edge, that will not delaminate under any conditions. PUR glued, edge banded, panels provide a prolonged life to, otherwise susceptible, panels in extreme and demanding applications such as medical and hospital environments and, in particular, toilet cubicle panelling applications.
